Assembly and Installation Services

Bruce Tall Construction provides assembly help for manufacturer-supplied furniture, outdoor kits and selected recreation or fitness products in Billings and nearby communities. This service is for putting together a purchased product according to its supplied parts and instructions; it is not custom construction, utility work or site development. To discuss an item, send the product link or model, dimensions, delivery status, assembly location and photos of the area. Call 406-671-8445 or email [email protected].

Indoor Furniture Assembly

Boxed home and office furniture can involve many parts, repeated hardware and steps that are easier to manage with adequate room and organized components. Assembly requests may include beds, desks, dressers, shelving units, tables and other manufacturer-supplied furniture.

Send a product link, model number or photo of the box label so the item can be identified before the visit is discussed. Mention the number of units, the room where each item will be assembled and whether the boxes have already been delivered to that room.

Furniture assembly covers the product itself. Wall attachment, built-in modification, electrical connection and changes to the room are separate considerations and should not be assumed. If the instructions call for anchoring, provide the relevant manual page and details about the proposed location so the exact scope can be confirmed.

Outdoor Structure Assembly

Manufacturer-supplied gazebo, pergola and shed kits require more than a product name. Overall dimensions, package count, access, surface condition and the manufacturer’s base or anchoring instructions can affect whether the item is ready for assembly.

Gazebo and Pergola Kits

For a gazebo or pergola kit, send the product link, footprint, height, material and manual when available. Include wide photos of the proposed location and describe the existing surface. Assembly of a kit does not automatically include construction of a foundation, modification of the product, permit handling or utility connections.

Shed Kits

For a shed kit, identify the brand, model, dimensions and package status. The intended location should be accessible and prepared to the manufacturer’s requirements before assembly begins. Base construction, grading, concrete work and other site preparation are not included unless they are separately reviewed and confirmed.

See the dedicated gazebo and pergola assembly or shed assembly pages for the item-specific information to send.

Recreation and Fitness Equipment

Assembly inquiries can also involve basketball hoops, home gym equipment, playsets, swing sets and trampolines. Exact scope must be confirmed for each product because size, weight, anchoring, clearances and manufacturer instructions vary substantially.

Basketball Hoops

Send the hoop type, model, manual and a photo of the intended location. Portable and other manufacturer-supplied systems have different assembly requirements. Excavation, concrete, permanent footing work and surface modification are not included merely because the product is a basketball hoop; any such requirement must be identified and separately confirmed.

Home Gyms and Exercise Equipment

For a home gym, rack, bench or similar product, provide dimensions, assembled weight if listed, box count and the room where it will be used. Confirm that the packaged components can reach the room through doors, stairs and hallways. Floor attachment or building modification must be discussed separately.

Playsets and Trampolines

Playsets, swing sets and trampolines require an appropriate open area and product-specific clearances. Send the manufacturer instructions and photos of the location. Ground preparation, anchoring and alterations are not assumed; the requested scope will be reviewed against the product and site details.

Patio and Grill Assembly

Patio tables, chairs, sectionals, storage pieces and other boxed outdoor furniture can be included in an assembly request. Let us know how many pieces are involved, whether all boxes have arrived and where the completed items will be placed.

Grill assembly requests should include the exact model and instructions. The service may cover assembly of the manufacturer-supplied product, but it does not include gas-line, electrical or other utility connections. Fuel setup and any required connection work remain outside the represented assembly scope.

What to Send for an Assembly Quote

The more precise the product information, the easier it is to review the request. Please send:

Do not discard packaging, hardware bags or instructions before assembly is complete. If the product arrives damaged or incomplete, photograph the issue and contact the retailer or manufacturer about replacement parts.

Preparing for Assembly

Confirm that all packages have arrived and the box model matches the order. Provide clear working space and a usable path to the assembly location. For outdoor kits, remove movable obstacles and check the manufacturer’s surface requirements.

You do not need to unbox everything in advance unless that has been discussed. Keeping parts grouped with their labels and hardware bags can make it easier to verify the contents against the manual. If you have already opened the boxes, keep every fastener, bracket and document together.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to unbox the product first?

Not necessarily. Keeping boxes, labels, instructions and hardware organized can help confirm that the correct parts are present. If boxes have already been opened, keep all components together and photograph any visible damage or missing-part issue.

Can you assemble items from different retailers?

Assembly is reviewed by product rather than retailer. Send the product link or model, manual, quantity and location details for each item so the requested scope can be confirmed.

What if parts are missing or damaged?

Assembly cannot correct a missing or manufacturer-damaged component. Keep the packaging and instructions, photograph the issue and contact the retailer or manufacturer about replacement parts. The next assembly step can be discussed after the required parts are available.

Do outdoor structures require a prepared base?

Many outdoor kits specify a level, suitable surface or particular base in the manufacturer’s instructions. The customer should provide the manual and site photos. Site preparation is not automatically part of assembly and must be separately reviewed if requested.

Is anchoring included?

Anchoring depends on the product, manufacturer instructions, surface and requested scope. It is not automatically included. Send the relevant manual page and photos so Bruce Tall Construction can confirm what assembly work is being discussed.
